Skibelund Krat

Skibelund Krat is today a monument park. In 1865, after the loss of Southern Jutland, the site was established as a national meeting and festival site, which today is surrounded by memorials to Danish personalities such as Ludvig Schrøder, Poul la Cour and H.D. Kloppenborg.

The installation of memorial stones in Skibelund Krat was quickly followed by more, and today there are a total of 22 memorial stones in Skibelund Krat. The most popular works of art in Skibelund are the Mother Tongue and the Magnus Stone. Skibelund Krat is a significant site in relation to the Reunification.
